Origin
In the late 1950’s Corrado Tadolini, a man with vision, creativity and intelligence, began developing a range of flat rubber drive belts and started his own “corner shop business”. Megadyne is born! -
The Polyurethane Age
The 1980’s were a turning point in the company’s development with the advent of polyurethane materials and the natural technical and engineering abilities of the Tadolini family. They embraced the new technology and developed moulded and open end power transmission belts. -
Worldwide Expansion
Megadyne became a market leader in polyurethane belting and built upon the success in the Italian market. Beginning with a network of “sister companies” around Europe, followed by worldwide outlets, Megadyne expanded from China to Brazil. -
Transmission System
With the new millennium, a new chapter of Megadyne was created with the acquisition of a rubber production facility in Spain (formally Pirelli/Dayco) and a pulley production plant near Milan. This development allowed Megadyne’s technical, production and sales teams to offer complete drive packages for synchronous belt drives solving customers various challenging needs.
The acquisition of Jason Industrial in the United States was a key step guaranteeing a solid commercial and productive presence in the Americas.
Equally important was the establishment of a polyurethane belt manufacturing plant in Qingdao and the acquisition of Ningbo Rubber Factory, giving Megadyne a powerful production base in Asia.
-
Consolidation
In order to consolidate its market leading position, Megadyne strengthened its efforts to support substantial organic growth and scout the market for more strategic acquisitions that would enhance its offering. -
Acquisition of Rultrans
Megadyne acquired Rultrans Transmisyon A.S., the market leader in Turkey and recognized internationally as a manufacturer and supplier of a wide range of high-quality PVC and polyurethane conveyor belts. -
Acquisition of BCA - Belt Corporation of America
Megadyne acquired BCA, one of the most respected and innovative manufacturers of specialty belting in the industry. -
Acquisition of Sampla Belting
Megadyne acquired SAMPLA Belting, a conveyor belt manufacturer with facilities in Italy, Turkey and in United States. This acquisition greatly expanded Megadyne’s position in the conveyor market and guaranteed high production capacity and product quality. -
Acquisition of Helicord
Megadyne entered the Indian market with the acquisition of Helicord, a power transmission belting company specializing in Automotive Timing Belts, Poly V Belts (Multi ribbed V Belts) and Raw Edge Cogged V Belts. -
Acquisitions of SACIF, AVE, MEGABELT and CIMEXSA
2017 was a big year for Megadyne acquisitions:
SACIF is an Italian company specializing in belts and conveyor reworking, expanding Megadyne’s Specialty Belt capabilities.
MEGABELT expanded Megadyne’s footprint to include the Israeli market.
AVE Group metal and plastic chains manufacturing capabilities added those products to Megadyne’s product portfolio. The acquisition strengthened its position in Spain.
CIMEXSA expanded Megadyne’s reach in the Colombian market. -
Acquisition of Challenge PT, Bandas Industriales and SATI
Bandas Industriales, an Argentinian belting company, strengthens Megadyne group’s reach and distributor planform in South America.
Challenge Group, a manufacturer and distributor of power transmission products, had locations in UK, Ireland, Australia, South Africa and China. SATI SpA was a European market leader for power transmission components. The combined acquisitions of Challenge Group and SATI along with Megadyne’s Poland manufacturing unit allowed Megadyne to offer a complete range of power transmission components to benefit its customers.
