Rubber MEGASYNC™ MEGAPAINT
Overview

Rubber MEGASYNC™ MEGAPAINT
Megadyne has developed Silver 3 and Gold 2 and TItanium timing belts designed for conveyor and transfer lines, specifically for painting systems: the MEGASYNC™ MEGAPAINT belt.
MEGASYNC™ MEGAPAINT belts are silicone free and do not contain contaminants, as requested for water or solvent based paints; the purity of materials and the absence of polluting particles always guarantees perfectly painted surfaces and without any defect.
Features
MEGAPAINT belts are silicone-free and do not contain contaminants for water-based or solvent-based paints; the purity of materials and the absence of polluting particles guarantee that painted surfaces remain pristine and defect-free.
Belts are delivered in a special protective package in order to guarantee complete surface purity from the moment of manufacture to the moment of installation.
Main components
BODY COMPOUND
The belt body and backside are made of either an NBR-based (for Silver3 and Gold2 belts) or an HNBR-based (for Titanium belts) compound, each with a high degree of purity and without any contaminating agents.
TENSILE CORD
The tensile member material depends on the belt: fiberglass for Silver3, K-glass for Gold2, or even carbon cords for Titanium with a high elastic modulus.
TOOTH FABRIC
Fabric on teeth offers high wear resistance.

Mechanical and chemical properties
- Silicone free
- High resistance to ozone and adequate resistance to lubricating oils
- Working temperatures from -20°C up to +100°C (-40°C to +120ºC for Titanium)
- No need at all for maintenance or lubrication

SITUATION/APPLICATION
A major automotive OEM was in the process of redesigning their paint shop line. They were seeking a way to improve production efficiency, lower energy consumption, and ensure high-quality paint finishes with minimal contamination. Space optimization was also a priority, as they needed a more compact transmission system without compromising performance.
THE PROBLEM
The competitor’s solution, using a low-performance belt, led to higher energy consumption and required more space. Additionally, the previous transmission system failed to meet paint shop standards, causing surface contamination, defective paint jobs, and costly rework. A more efficient, reliable, and contaminant-free solution was needed.
